Your privacy rights
At HabiTrak, we respect your privacy rights and comply with data protection regulations including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data and account at any time.
This page is for account holders whose data HabiTrak controls. If you are a resident and want data held about you in HabiTrak deleted, your housing provider or managing agent is the controller of that data, so please direct your request to them; we act as their processor and will support them in responding. See our Privacy Policy for how these roles work.
How to request data deletion
To request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data, please send an email to our support team with the following information:
Email request template:
- Your registered email address
- Your full name as registered in the app
- Your organisation name (if applicable)
- Reason for deletion (optional)
What data will be deleted
Upon your request, we will delete the following data:
- Your account profile information (name, email, contact details)
- All personal data you have submitted through the application
- Usage history and activity logs associated with your account
- Any uploaded documents or files linked to your account
- Communication preferences and settings
Important note:
Some data may be retained for legal compliance purposes, such as financial records or data required by housing regulations. We will inform you if any data must be retained and for how long.
Processing time
We will process your data deletion request within 30 days of receiving it. You will receive:
- An acknowledgment email within 48 hours confirming we have received your request
- A verification email to confirm your identity and the deletion request
- A final confirmation email once your data has been successfully deleted
Alternative: data export
Before requesting deletion, you may want to export your data. Under GDPR, you have the right to data portability. Contact us at support@habitrak.co.uk to request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format.
